    Preparation and properties of electrospun P(VDF-TrFE) /BaTiO3 piezoelectric composite films

    • In order to explore the potential application of nanogenerators in supplying power to electronic equipment, poly (vinylidene fluoride-ethylene trifluoride) (P(VDF-TrFE))/ Barium titanate (BaTiO3) composite piezoelectric films were prepared by high voltage electrospinning. Effects of ambient relative humidity in electrospinning were studied. The structure and properties of the membranes were analyzed by SEM and X-ray diffraction. The nanogenerators were prepared using the films as the substrates, and the piezoelectric effect of the nanogenerators was evaluated by vibration excitation. The experimental results show that when the relative humidity is 65%, the open-circuit voltage of piezoelectric nanogenerator based on the film prepared from dispersion containing 10% mass fraction of P(VDF-TrFE) and 1% mass fraction of BaTiO3 has the highest value, which is 2.0 times higher than that of pure P(VDF-TrFE). The study shows that the nanogenerator can harvest energy from daily motion and power up a microcontroller. Therefore, it has great potential for powering low-power electronic devices.
